Telecommunications infrastructure service provider Moytel has secured three international management-system certifications covering quality, environmental management and occupational health and safety.
The certifications are ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, according to reports on the company’s certification milestone.
The development puts attention not only on obtaining the certifications but also on how the standards are incorporated into day-to-day business operations, particularly in a telecommunications industry where service quality, field safety and environmental management can directly affect project delivery.
John Aderibigbe of DU&T Consulting, who commented on the certification in a report by The Sun, said organisations should go beyond treating ISO implementation as a documentation exercise.
“Our role is to help businesses understand the standards, own their systems and turn internationally recognized requirements into measurable business value,” Aderibigbe said.
His comments reflect a broader challenge for organisations pursuing international certifications: ensuring that employees understand the systems being introduced and that the requirements become part of routine operations rather than processes used only during external assessments.
According to DU&T Consulting’s published implementation framework, the process begins with defining an organisation’s objectives, activities, locations and applicable standards before assessing existing systems and identifying gaps.
The next stages involve developing the required documentation and operational controls, building staff understanding, conducting internal reviews and audits, addressing identified problems and preparing the organisation for certification.
Moytel’s reported implementation included strengthening documentation practices, maintaining a dedicated quality function and giving greater attention to safety in its field operations.
The three certifications address different areas of organisational performance. ISO 9001 focuses on quality-management systems, ISO 14001 covers environmental management, while ISO 45001 provides a framework for managing occupational health and safety risks.
For telecommunications companies and infrastructure contractors, the standards can affect areas ranging from service delivery and internal processes to field operations, workplace safety and environmental controls.
DU&T Consulting provides management consulting, professional training and ISO implementation and certification-readiness services. Its management team includes General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Imoleayo Omeni, whose listed areas of practice include integrated management systems, internal audits, management reviews, professional training and certification coordination.
The materials reviewed by Verita Post confirm reports of Moytel attaining the three certifications. However, details including the individual certificate numbers and the issuing certification body were not contained in the information available for this report.
The development comes as more businesses operating across technical and infrastructure-intensive industries look to formal management systems to demonstrate consistent processes, improve operational controls and meet increasingly demanding customer and regulatory expectations.
