A phone dealer in Ilesa, Osun State, has appealed for public assistance after burglars allegedly broke into his shop and carted away phones, computers, accessories and other goods belonging to the business.
The trader, who operates Phemzy Gadget, disclosed the incident in an emotional video shared through the business’s TikTok account, @phemzygadgetphonestore.
In the video seen by Verita Post, the visibly distressed businessman said he arrived at his shop in the morning only to discover that the premises had been burgled.
According to him, those responsible broke into secured areas of the shop, forced open his safe and removed virtually everything of value inside.
He said computers, mobile phones, accessories and other equipment used for the business were taken away.
The trader struggled to contain his emotions as he explained that the loss went beyond merchandise on shelves.
For him, the shop represented his livelihood and the means through which he supported himself and his family.
He appealed to members of the public for assistance as he tries to recover from the incident.
“This is my business, my life and even my family,” he said in the video while describing the impact of the loss.
Verita Post has not independently established the total value of the stolen goods, and no figure should presently be attached to the loss without confirmation from the shop owner or investigating authorities.
It is also not yet clear whether arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
The businessman’s plight has begun attracting attention beyond his social-media audience.
Lawyer and public figure Pelumi Olajengbesi shared the story on Facebook on Wednesday, calling it “devastating” and asking anyone who knows the businessman to help establish contact with him.
Olajengbesi said some people who had seen the video were in a position to provide assistance and wanted to reach the trader urgently.
“Please, if anyone knows this man or can help us locate him and verify his story, kindly reach out immediately,” he wrote.
He added that “significant help” was available once the businessman could be located and his account of the incident verified.
Olajengbesi’s intervention should, however, remain secondary to the underlying story: a local entrepreneur says the stock and equipment on which his livelihood depends were taken in a burglary.
Phemzy Gadget describes itself online as a phone store in Ilesa, dealing in products including iPhones, Samsung devices, laptops, phone accessories and other gadgets.
Its TikTok account has built an audience of more than 14,000 followers, with videos promoting products and documenting activities at the shop.
The same platform is now being used by the owner to draw attention to the burglary and appeal for assistance.
For a business that depends heavily on physical stock, losing phones, laptops and accessories in a single incident can amount to losing much of the capital required to continue trading.
How members of the public can help
Anyone who knows the Phemzy Gadget owner personally, has useful information concerning the burglary, or wishes to offer legitimate assistance can reach the business through its official TikTok account:
@phemzygadgetphonestore
His Phone Number: 07066701829
Members of the public should verify any payment details directly with the business owner before transferring money, particularly as fundraising appeals can sometimes attract impersonators after gaining attention online.
Anyone with information that could assist in identifying those responsible should also report it to the appropriate security authorities.
Verita Post will update this report if the shop owner, police or other relevant authorities provide additional information about the burglary, the value of the items taken or efforts to recover them.
